NAT Lab (Nucleic Acid Testing Lab): STBTC is one of only a few blood centers to have a NAT lab in their facility. This efficient technology has enhanced the safety of the blood supply.

Processing Laboratory: The Processing Laboratory offers viral marker testing for Anti-HIV 1/2, Anti-HCV, Anti-HTLV I/II, Anti-HBc, HbsAg, Syphilis RPR, ALT, CMV, Opiates, Serum Protein Electropheresis (SPE) and Cholesterol. Confirmatory testing for HCV (RIBA) is also available.

Special Procedures Laboratory: The Special Procedures Laboratory offers Compatibility Testing (ABO & Rh, antibody screen & crossmatch) Consult Services (Antibody ID work-ups) and Red Blood Cell Antigen Typing. In addition, STBTC maintains an inventory of frozen rare red blood cells.
