South Texas Blood & Tissue Center (STBTC) is a not-for-profit center responsible for supplying blood and tissue to over 100 hospitals and clinics in 43 counties. STBTC has four in-bank donor locations in San Antonio, and one in Victoria, Texas. The Center also conducts blood drives with its mobile units at locations throughout south Texas. South Texas Blood & Tissue Center is the first blood center in North America to receive ISO 9000 accreditation. In addition to recruiting, collecting, processing, testing and distributing blood components, STBTC operates a certified tissue bank, maintains an autologous cord blood bank and also serves as a National Marrow Donor Program registration site.
